As the 2020s begin, humanity is preparing for the next big leap in space sending the first astronauts to the enigmatic Red Planet. But deep space and Mars itself are entirely hostile to the human body and psyche. Before we set off on our next big adventure, we must figure out ways how to mitigate the risks we will encounter on the way to our neighbor planet. This lecture will cover in detail all challenges we must rise to if we wish set sail for Mars.
Dmitry Oliferovich is a science journalist and blogger from Saint Petersburg. He specializes in history and future challenges of human spaceflight with an especially keen interest in humanitys return to the Moon and eventual journey to Mars.
